Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science
An end-of-year message from Dr. Joe Loizzo, Founder and Director of the Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science:
Dear Friends of Nalanda Institute,
As the holiday season dawns, ushering in the new year of the Earth Mother Pig, it’s time to honor how far we’ve come and to renew our vision for the journey ahead.
2018 has been a pivotal year, in which we’ve evolved our teaching methods, deepened our community, and made our programs more widely available — to more powerfully meet the mounting challenges of a world torn by conflict and divisiveness. But we can’t keep growing our teaching capacity, healing community, and global impact without your help!
As our world becomes increasingly connected, we and our neighbors everywhere are coming face to face with the final challenge to human consciousness: overcoming the divisive mindset of “us vs. them” and fully adapting our minds and brains to a future of radical equity and global interdependence. Our Nalanda Institute community is playing a pioneering role in this great transition, by making the timeless transformative wisdom and arts of the Nalanda tradition truly accessible and applicable to our daily lives and work.
As with all our historic success, so our future capacity to empower people from all walks of life to thrive together in our complex age vitally depends on your generosity. Thanks to your support, this year we have been able to bring world-class contemplative trainings to more diverse students in more different formats across more states and countries than ever before.
Pilar, Helen, Mary, Geri and I—along with all our directors, faculty and staff—are so incredibly grateful to you for supporting Nalanda Institute and our growing impact through the years. We trust that you will continue or increase your support this year to help us all rise together to the ultimate challenge humanity faces right now.
Thanks to the boundless generosity of an anonymous donor, this year once again your gift will be matched, and have double the impact on expanding our community and reaching out to more and more lives.
Given the abundant success we had in last year’s drive, our aim for this year is to raise $75,000 and to boost our communal participation even further. Your donation, however large or small, will go towards continuing our ongoing offerings, making more of our programs available to distance learners around the world, and to granting more scholarships that allow students in need to bring our empowering blend of neuropsychology and contemplative practice to underserved communities near and far.
With boundless gratitude,
Joe Loizzo, MD, PhD
