An online gathering and dialogue with Dr. Joe Loizzo and Nalanda Institute’s CBRT faculty Fiona Brandon and Moustafa Abdelrahman

For our eighth Gathering in Uncertain Times, we come full circle from where we began. In our surreal new normal of social distancing and Zoom fatigue, we face a protracted struggle against inequity, and feel the social fabric of our nation wearing thin. How do we deepen our caring connection and strengthen our capacity for resilience and repair when our days are trapped behind screens and masks and the world around us is literally going up in smoke?

In this month’s gathering Joe will interview two inspiring teachers in our community: Fiona Brandon, the new Director of Nalanda Institute’s Compassion-Based Resilience Training Program (CBRT) and longtime Director of our Contemplative Psychotherapy Program in San Francisco; and Moustafa Abdelrahman, her partner in the CBRT Teacher Training, who also teaches in the Contemplative Psychotherapy Programs in Toronto and New York. Fiona and Moustafa will share their experience teaching and living compassion in this challenging time, and offer their hope for Nalanda Institute’s potential impact on our world.

Join us as we learn and grow together to envision how our community can use today’s global bardo to consciously evolve a more caring way to engage this complex moment and to begin to embody the more equitable and sustainable future we all yearn for.
