Cultivating Community in Our Divisive Age: Growing Together Through Uncertain Times
Event Navigation

An online gathering and talk with Dr. Joe Loizzo
As we keep struggling through our two converging pandemics—the current wave of Covid-19 and the centuries-old tide of structural racism—what strikes us first are the stark ways they both divide our society into us-versus-them camps.
Why is our society so prone to division? Can we reverse this harmful trend, restore the fabric of our common humanity and weave a truly inclusive community?
Join us for our sixth Gathering in Uncertain Times. We will explore how modern colonial individualism has increasingly divided us and how we must all learn to thrive together based on Shakyamuni’s teaching that real personal freedom requires inclusive community.
This process requires a sincere look at our own racial, gender and cultural biases, to patiently face and break free of the divisiveness within ourselves, and to embrace the hard work of seeing and transforming our part in oppressive social systems and the harm they cause, especially to the Black, Brown, Indigenous, Asian and LGBTQ members of our community.
Please join us for our 6th Gathering in Uncertain Times July 10th at 3:00pm EDT (note special time).
