A Sustainable Happiness Community Retreat with Joe Loizzo, MD, PhD and Scott Tusa
The Nalanda Institute Sustainable Happiness Program (SHP) transplants the genetic code of contemplative living from the Nalanda Tradition—encoded in the seminal teachings of the gradual path—into the matrix of our modern science, psychology, and way of life.
Since lifelong learning and community are the life-blood of our journey on that path, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to dive into practice in an atmosphere of clear awareness, deep reflection, and loving commitment.
The retreat revolves around the most central of concise practice texts distilling the great Tibetan master Tsong Khapa’s (1357-1419) synthesis of the gradual path, the classic Mentor Bonding composed by Panchen Losang Chokyi Gyaltsan (1570-1662). It moves gradually through the text as an integrative practice script (sadhana), unpacking the tradition observed by the Dalai Lama and his tutors of making Mentor-Bonding the backbone of an integrated lifelong practice of all three vehicles of contemplative transformation. Join us!
