Healing Anxiety and Depression with Self-Compassion
Event Navigation

Contemplative practice workshop with Joe Loizzo, M.D., Ph.D. and Megan Mook, M.A.
When it comes to meditating with anxiety and depression, there’s a secret ingredient that takes the sting out. You’ve got to join us to experience it for yourself, but we’ll give you a hint: it’s tender, embracing, and yes, even loving. A simple yet powerful mix of mindfulness meditation, timeless insights for transforming shame, and the heart-based art of nurturing compassion has proven to be a surprisingly potent remedy for even the most stubborn anxiety, depression, rumination and self-attack.
The instructors will introduce the science behind this method, lead participants through a handful of simple practices that cultivate self-compassion, and foster an open dialogue about how individuals can apply self-compassion in their own contemplative healing.
Faculty: Joe Loizzo and Megan Mook
Schedule: Saturday, October 21 from 10am – 5pm
