Postponed: The Aesthetics of Enlightenment: The Art of Embodying Compassion through Ritual, Sound, Imagery and Dance

A daylong workshop with Sundar Das, Sonam Dhargyay, Geshe Tashi Dorje, Karen Greenspan, Joe Loizzo

POSTPONED. This event has been postponed due to concerns about everyone’s health and safety. Please make sure you’re on our mailing list for updates.

This daylong workshop co-sponsored with Tibet House is meant to educate and edify people curious about the embodied practice of the Tantric arts, whether to enrich their own contemplative practice or to better understand the aesthetics of this powerful transformative tradition. Guided by a team of devoted artist-practitioners, participants will explore the arts of arranging and making offerings, using visual art to inform visualization, chanting and reciting practice scripts, guiding meditation with contemplative sound, and/or embodying practice though hand gestures, movement and dance. The day will provide both an overview of the full rainbow spectrum of Tantric arts and a practical workshop meant to convey an experiential taste and feel for how these contemplative arts work together to help people cultivate and embody more joyful, creative and integrated mind/body states.

This Saturday workshop is part of a linked event which includes a Friday evening panel discussion. While you may join in for either or both, we encourage you to attend both for a fuller experience.
