Turning Everyday Trauma into Self-Healing and Well-Being

Sustainable Happiness Program: Daylong retreat with Joe Loizzo and Mary Reilly Nichols

Starting with simple mindfulness and Hatha yoga, this retreat helps people ground basic practice in the self-healing principles of the four noble truths and the maps of contemplative living laid out in the eightfold path, the eight limbs of yoga, modern recovery and psychotherapy. It shows how the four truths line up with four scopes of mindfulness—of the breathing body, balanced sensitivity, open awareness and content of experience—yielding the four insights that free us up for contemplative life. The retreat will focus on using focused and open mindfulness to help ground, guide and speed the cultivation of healing insight and self-compassion in everyday life.

An associated course precedes this retreat which may be taken separately.

Faculty: Joe Loizzo  and Mary Reilly Nichols

Schedule: Saturday, November 4 from 10am–5pm

Tuition: $80

Registration:  Registration is handled through Tibet House. Register here or pay at the door.

Additional Information: The retreat is open to all, whether or not you’ve taken the preceding course. Please wear comfortable clothing for ease of movement and bring a yoga mat if you own one.
