Join Us in Our Year-End Drive:
Weaving a World of Shared Belonging

As we embark on our Year-End Fundraising Drive, we look back at our journey together this year with a deep sense of gratitude. While the year has been challenging in so many in ways, we are more grateful than ever for the healing work we do together at Nalanda Institute, reconnecting ever more deeply with ourselves, with one another and with our living planet.

Our commitment to the work of deepening connection is reflected in the initiatives we’ve taken at the Institute this year to extend the healing fabric of our community further out to our troubled world.

Inspiration and Generosity

Inspired by the prophetic vision of the Clockwork Tantra (Kalachakra), the work we do at the Institute restoring and deepening connection makes our embodied minds and community a living, breathing loom, where we can all practice repairing the torn fabric of our humanity and coming together to weave a world of shared belonging.

Of course, like any living thing, the human tapestry of our community needs the ongoing practice of continual weaving and reweaving, and requires us all—students, graduates, faculty, staff, board and partners—to work together to maintain and extend that tapestry to new individuals and communities near and far.

So please consider donating to our fundraising drive this year—the transformative work we do together is simply not possible without the generous support of bodhisattva community members like you!

Help us reach our goal of $100,000 — remember, no donation is too small.

Your generosity will go to support:

  • Extending scholarship support to our students in all our program offerings
  • Continuing our donation-based Lunchtime Meditation series for all who seek communal support for practice
  • Offering our free affinity groups for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, White Affinity, and Undoing Patriarchy
  • Continuing our three-session Short Courses on special topics in Contemplative Living
  • Developing partnerships with organizations like the Academy for Community Behavioral Health to support frontline non-profit workers in NYC and around the world
  • Continuing research through CUNY on the benefits of CBRT for preventing burnout among psychology graduate students and frontline health workers
  • Adding a new expanded Resource Page on our website to offer more free media and materials for our community members and newcomers
  • Adding a Research page to our website to feature the many research studies our faculty has already published and/or is currently engaged in

Thank You!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do to keep yourself, your family, our community and our whole planet weaving together in the spirit of universal compassion and shared belonging.

OM SVASTI! OM MANI PADME HUM HREE!

MAY ALL BEINGS GROW TOGETHER IN LASTING PEACE, JOY AND EQUANIMITY!

Nalanda Institute is a contemplative learning community of people devoted to transforming their lives, supporting others in changing themselves and working together to better care for the world we share. It was founded by Academic Director Joe Loizzo, MD, PhD, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist and Columbia-trained Buddhist scholar with over forty years experience studying the beneficial effects of contemplative practices.

Our programs blend university-level rigorous content with the experiential practices needed for self and societal transformation. The educational experience is designed to be communal, impactful, and practical which means students begin to process and implement what they learn from their first day of instruction.

Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All monetary donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
