“That’s when I have most of my fun back
High, high, high, high there
Them summer days
Those summer days”
                              — Sly Stone

The summer is here, and for those of us living in the northern hemisphere (and for those around the globe, please join us) that signals a much needed opportunity to slow down, gather the warm energy of the sun, and linger on a park bench, or by the water – long into the day. In the Nalanda Institute community, it’s also a time for sharing books from the authors who inspire, nurture, teach, heal, challenge, help us find our embodied senses, and give us the courage to envision a better future and a more compassionate world.

Now in its 5th year, the Summer Reading List draws from the ancient as well as the new, fiction as well as nonfiction, the unsettling as well as the comforting, and the nurturing as well as the challenging. As we find ourselves in a world of upheaval and strife, we hope that connecting around this inspiring list will offer us all a chance to recharge our life-batteries and lean into the sheer brilliance of our individual and collective hearts and minds. Take a peek inside and see what calls you!
