Volunteer & Work-Study

Volunteer

Volunteers are our enlightened altruists—the bodhisattvas—who help us flourish as a vibrant and inclusive contemplative learning community.

Volunteering is also a quick path toward making lasting friendships, building connections to community, and accelerating your development as a practitioner and agent of change. We are deeply grateful for every effort that each individual makes to co-create our collective path as a global village of aspiring and practicing altruists.

There are many ways that you can volunteer. Here are just a few:

  • Volunteer to help support our annual benefit, holiday potluck dinner, and special lectures and events.
  • Join our editing team to help prepare transcribed lectures for publication.
  • Provide light administrative support such as help setting up for classes and retreats, help with mailers, and other assorted tasks.

Work-Study

Our Work-Study program provides students the opportunity to participate in courses and classes for free or reduced tuition in exchange for their help with assorted activities at Nalanda Institute.
