Fostering community is an important aspect of contemplative learning. It is through community that we support each other on this path of learning. There are many ways for people to become part of our community from attending any of our listed events and programs to volunteering and work-study opportunities. Read on to learn more.
Volunteer
Volunteers are our enlightened altruists—the bodhisattvas—who help us flourish as a vibrant and inclusive contemplative learning community.
Volunteering is also a quick path toward making lasting friendships, building connections to community, and accelerating your development as a practitioner and agent of change. We are deeply grateful for every effort that each individual makes to co-create our collective path as a global village of aspiring and practicing altruists.
There are many ways that you can volunteer. Here are just a few:
- Volunteer to help support our annual benefit, holiday potluck dinner, and special lectures and events.
- Join our editing team to help prepare transcribed lectures for publication.
- Provide light administrative support such as help setting up for classes and retreats, help with mailers, and other assorted tasks.
To volunteer, please contact Geri Loizzo, Director of Programs and Community Engagement: geri@nalandainstitute.org
Work-Study
Our Work-Study program provides students the opportunity to participate in courses and classes for free or reduced tuition in exchange for their help with assorted activities at Nalanda Institute.
For work-study opportunities, please email the contact person listed on the program/training of your interest.
